When I was young, my father, Noel Leigh, shown above on Pilgrimage at Croagh Patrick, taught me a small prayer to the Holy Spirit. He insisted that I recite it before every meeting, before every major conversation and every important decision I had to make. He strongly believed that if you asked the Holy Spirit to come into you, anything was possible.
“Holy Spirit, come into my heart and guide my actions.”
Noel J. Leigh
Or the Longer Version
Holy Spirit, come into my heart and guide my actions.
Holy Spirit, come into my soul and guide my spirituality.
Holy Spirit, come into my mind and guide my thoughts.
Mother Mary Pray for me. That I may use the gifts that God has given me at birth for the betterment of my family and my church.
I like to add each of the above to each decade of my rosary like this:
For those who pray different versions of the Rosary, please forgive my changes. Know that this version comes from my heart, where I believe, the Holy Spirit resides.
